About me

I was raised in the West Country of the 1970s – the unlikely product of a tin miner and a ballet dancer – and played guitar in bands on Dartmoor before studying at film school, in Plymouth. After proving that I could drive Rik Mayall around and fetch Pete Richardson’s ciggies satisfactorily as runner on Virgin Trains adverts, I then enjoyed filming Stella Street as a runner/double and wearing John Session’s disgustingly soggy Marlon Brando fat-suit and Mick Jagger’s leopard-skin spandex tights before moving to London in 1999 where editing happens and became assistant to esteemed documentary editor Robert Hargreaves.

Cut to 15 years later, and I have gained experience working within a variety of genres: documentary series, promos, music promos, factual telly, adverts, sponsorship idents, short films, and feature film. These days, when I’m not playing the ukulele, you’ll find me mainly cutting adverts and looking for the next movie to work on.

You can stop reading now, unless you want to read not-very-interesting lists of things like editing systems I use such as Premiere,  Avid and Final Cut Pro, to work material from many origins such as 35mm and Super 16mm film, 4k, 2k, HD, RED, Arri Alexa, C300, Canon 5D/7D and whatever else; or fascinating lists of broadcasters that my work has ended up on, including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, More 4, Film 4, Five, Sky Sports, UKTV Gold, TCM, Nickelodeon, Disney,

Apparently these lists help search engines find me, so here is a list of ad agencies that I have worked with too: Ogilvy, TBWA, JWT, M&C Saatchi, McCann, Karmarama, EuroRSCG, BCL, DLKW, Publicis, Biscuit, RG/A, Mustoes and those incredibly fine people at SellSell.

There is also a long, exciting list of high-profile clients that I am apparently supposed to brag about including Guinness, Coca-Cola, Nintendo, Honda, Kellogg’s, Knorr, Lynx (Axe), Her Majesty’s Government, The Times and Sunday Times Newspapers, Weetabix, Proctor & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Persil, Comfort, Lynx, Vodafone, Orange, and (ahem) a load of old banks, Lloyds, TSB, HSBC, RBS, Abbey, Halifax, and Norwich Union.

Anyway, give me a shout if you’d like to work with me or want to know anything more specific, or if you’d like to receive a full credit list or maybe a DVD showreel to keep on your shelf.
