About me

I was raised in the West Country of England in the 1970s – the unlikely product of a tin miner and a ballet dancer – a combination of graft and grace, pretty good attributes for a future editor. As a teen I wanted to be a rockstar so I played guitar in bands on Dartmoor before reality bit and I went to study film in Plymouth. After proving that I could drive Rik Mayall around and fetch Pete Richardson’s ciggies satisfactorily as runner on Virgin Trains adverts, I then enjoyed filming Stella Street as a runner/double and wearing John Session’s disgustingly soggy Marlon Brando fat-suit and Mick Jagger’s leopard-skin spandex tights before moving to London in 1999 where editing happens.

Cut to 20 years later, and I have worked within most genres: documentary series, promos, music promos, factual telly, adverts, sponsorship idents, short films, and feature film, even fashion if I must. These days you’ll find me mainly cutting adverts and anything short or funny.

I now have an excellent remote editing solution where I can live stream the output of my edit to anyone with a good internet connection, It’s clear, smooth running and all in sync. It means multiple people can work together but all in separate locations.

I’ve used it on quite a few jobs now, working with a director and even working with ad agencies on their changes and the feedback is that it’s the next best thing to actually being in the room together although we’re nearly 2000km apart.

Anyway, give me a shout if you’d like to work with me or want to know anything more.
